The business case for putting the Net Zero Home Scheme in front of your people.
Home energy is one of the biggest pressures on household budgets, and it is one an employer cannot fix with a pay review alone. The scheme gives your people discounted access to heat pumps, solar, battery storage and smart energy tech, so their fixed monthly outgoings fall permanently rather than for one pay cycle.
Nothing. There is no licence fee, no subsidy requirement, no minimum headcount and no funding commitment. One short agreement gives your whole workforce access at member pricing.
A discount portal lists thousands of offers nobody uses. This is a walled garden of vetted products with real, negotiated savings of up to 15%, delivered by accredited nationwide installers, with a managed quote process behind it rather than an affiliate link.
Any employer with a workforce that owns or influences their home energy setup. It works particularly well where the population is spread across the UK, because the installer network is nationwide rather than regional.
Benefits that reduce a recurring household bill are remembered far longer than one-off perks. Employees who install solar or a heat pump associate a multi-year saving with their employer, and the launch gives you a genuinely new thing to say to your people.
Yes. You receive anonymised aggregate reporting on take-up, completed installs and estimated carbon saved, which supports scope 3 and employee-engagement narratives without touching individual data.
Yes. The scheme sits outside payroll and outside your benefits platform, so it does not disturb existing providers. Most employers link to it from their intranet or benefits hub.
It complements it. Households charging an electric car at home save far more with solar, a battery and the right tariff, so the two benefits reinforce each other.
What the employer is, and is not, responsible for.
No. The scheme sits entirely outside payroll. Employees buy directly from the installer at member pricing, so there is no deduction, no P11D and nothing for payroll or finance to process.
Not the employer. The contract is between the employee and the accredited installer, who holds the workmanship warranty, insurance-backed guarantee and consumer-code obligations. We manage the escalation on the employee's behalf.
No. You are signposting a benefit. All pricing, product information and quoting is handled by us and the installer, and employees make their own purchasing decision.
Anonymised, aggregate reporting only: take-up numbers, installs completed and estimated carbon saved. Individual quotes, addresses and personal data are never shared with the employer.
Data is processed under UK GDPR, used only to produce a quote and deliver the installation, and never sold. Employees can request deletion at any time.
Yes. Installers are accredited (MCS or equivalent where applicable), insured, consumer-code registered and reviewed on quality and completion, not just price.
You can stop promoting it at any time with no exit fee. Employees already mid-installation keep their contract with the installer, which is unaffected.
What actually happens between signing and your people getting quotes.
Typically about a week. You sign the agreement, we send the comms pack with launch email, intranet copy and FAQ, and your people can request a live online quote the same day it goes out.
Close to none. There is one agreement to sign and one set of comms to send. Every employee question, quote and installation query comes to us, not to your team.
A launch email, intranet and newsletter copy, a poster or Slack/Teams asset, an employee FAQ and a short explainer of what the scheme covers.
Yes. We can run live sessions for your people covering how the products work, what they cost and what to expect from an install.
Seasonal moments work best: a spring push on solar, an autumn push on heat pumps and insulation, and a tariff reminder around price cap changes. We supply the copy each time.
Us. Employees deal directly with the scheme team and their installer, so HR is not a middle layer.
Through the aggregate report: quote requests, installs completed, estimated household savings and estimated carbon avoided across the workforce.
Who in your workforce can use it, and where.
Yes. Every employee has access regardless of role, salary or length of service, because nothing runs through payroll.
For parts of the scheme, yes. Plug-in solar and the member energy tariff need no permanent alteration to the property, so renters can take them up immediately. Solar, heat pumps and battery storage need the property owner's consent.
Yes, across mainland Great Britain through two nationwide embedded installer networks. Some remote areas and islands may have longer lead times.
The member pricing is for employees and their household. Ask us if you would like to extend it more widely.
Anything already purchased is theirs, with warranties intact. They simply lose access to future member pricing.
